Volleyball got introduced in the 1987 South Asian Games. India won a gold medal in both men’s and women’s categories in the 2016 South Asian Games and Sri Lanka clinched the silver medal. Pakistan (men’s) and Nepal (women’s) had to settle for the bronze medal in the previous edition. Chip Michalove, who owns fishing charter company Outcast Sport Fishing, had been out with angler Pete Quartuccio and a friend on July 13 off Hilton Head Island when they reeled in the ginormous shark. The shark, had it been brought back to shore, may have smashed the state record for the heaviest hammerhead caught. The Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School students were shot off-campus as they were leaving school. Their injuries were not life-threatening, Orangeburg County School District said. A suspect is being held in custody in connection to the shooting according to Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell. No further information has been released about the suspect including possible charges they may face. “Throughout the remainder of the week, in-person and remote counseling resources will be made available to Orangeburg-Wilkinson’s students, staff and families as we recover together and heal from such a tragic afternoon,” a statement from the high school said on its website....

The Gamecocks released their schedule Wednesday and they will play the Aggies on Thursday night, Aug. 28, to kick off the season. Is the PS4 Being Discontinued by Sony? When Sony released the PS5, it told consumers that support for the PS4 would continue for around the next three to four years. However, evidence has arisen that seems to suggest that the Japanese console giant will not be manufacturing certain PS4 models any more. According to a tweet by Cheesemeister, signs in Japanese stores claim that certain models won’t be in stock any more because of Sony ending the console’s production....

The UK CMA recently published Sony’s argument against the acquisition, which among many points, states that Microsoft would have a domineering position in the industry when it comes to first-person shooters, describing it as a one-stop shop for major FPS games, especially with Xbox Game Pass. It discusses how Battlefield can’t compete with Call of Duty anymore, and seemingly, acknowledgments of its own FPS and live service efforts (part of its acquisition of Bungie) go unmentioned but should be otherwise implied....

Obviously, this doesn’t mean that anything whatsoever is confirmed. A patent is just a patent (a legally registered idea) and doesn’t always come to fruition. The terms in a patent are also intentionally ambiguous, which could mean that even if the patent is used it could be used in an entirely different and unexpected way. Nevertheless, given the ongoing development of the PS5 the patent does imply what Sony could be seriously considering backward compatibility for its upcoming console....
