Virtual Galleries Going to a museum in 2024 won’t mean shuffling around cold marble galleries. Paintings and antiquities, says museum “conceptualizer” Karl Katz, will increasingly appear in the context in which they were created. Technology will be used to simulate real spaces where art can be seen in its original setting–think antiquities in a digital version of the ancient world. Also look for museums dedicated to today’s gizmos: answering machines, VCRs, iMacs.
